"Subfocus was in Toronto yesterday playing a set at The Guvernment for his latest tour. Of course, this was something I had to check out because its been a while since I got to dance my face off and go wild, unfortunately the show wasn't quite what I expected. If we're talking about just Subfocus' set then I will say I was satisfied as I left Guv with a smile on my face and my legs sore from dancing. The problem was the rest of the night was hit and miss on many things. Other headliners "Delta Heavy" did not show up due to illness and the opening act "The Sour DJ" didn't really move me or make me want to rage, it was more typical banger after typical banger that we are all getting tired of. The final thing that upset me was the overall sound in the venue, I didn't think the EQ limit was balanced at all and many songs drained out due to too much bass. These problems are not Subfocus' fault but definitely put a damper on some parts of the night. Thankfully Sub delivered a stellar performance and had the crowd moving at his very will during almost the entire set. The only thing I didn't like about his set was his god awful MC who talked way too much, guess he didn't realize people payed for the music not his voice. This review may sound like I didn't have a good time but it was quite the opposite. Happy vibes, good music and a crowed full of energetic people, and for that Subfocus I thank you, for this night was a blast!"
